Sport Informant Presents Locker Room

Sport Informant, L.L.C. is proud to announce Locker Room, a social network designed with sports fans in mind.

Locker Room will feature customizable profile pages in the form of virtual locker rooms.  Each locker room will feature fully customizable avatar creation, or second life create-a-person.  Each member will get to create their own character to represent them site-wide as they get involved with other members and activities the Sport Informant will offer.  Users will have the ability to customize their characters from head to toe with a plethora of options ranging from headbands to sneakers.

Each member's locker room will have the ability to have its own unique feel as well.  While each profile will have the usual items, such as wall posts, status updates and personal information sharing, users will also have access to some more refined options, like podcast and video postings, sports web blogging, trophy room to share site accolades and even a select-a-sponsor feature that will allow avatars to have sponsorships just like the pros!

Locker Room will also be introducing a very innovating on-site money system (referred to as Sport Cash).  Each registered member will be endowed with a "signing bonus" for creating a locker room and avatar.  Afterward, members will be rewarded with more Sport Cash for participating in site activities, such as commenting in or creating a forum, participating in in fantasy games, creating blogs and uploading podcasts.  All Sport Cash rewarded will go towards new items for both the avatar and locker room profile page and evenutally real life items.

Another feature of the Sport Cash will be the availability to bet it on real life game results.  For example, if John Doe wanted to bet 100 Sport Cash on the Denver Nuggets beating the Houston Rockets and it was paying out two to one, he could do that against the site or another player.  If the Nuggets win, John gets 200 Sport Cash back and if the Rockets win he loses the Sport Cash.  Sport Informant, L.L.C. will not endorse any exchanging of real money for any site activities.

Locker Room will also serve as a venue for businesses to better get in touch with potential customers.  If a bar owner from Boston wanted to make locals aware of a Boston Celtics event at their bar, then they could send out a message to all applicable Boston locals (of course users will have the option to receive such messages).  Each business will also be able to create a virtual store front to represent their brand complete with company status updates, company information and a company calendar to make it easy for potential patrons to view any upcoming events.

Sport Informant's Locker Room will change the landscape of social networking amongst sports fans.  Look for it in early 2010.
