ESPN.com news services are reporting that Chris Henry, fifth year wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, is in serious condition.

Foxsports.com reported that Henry may have been on life support as well.

Henry was taken to the hospital after he fell out of a pickup truck on Wednesday. Police described the incident as a domestic dispute between Henry and his fiancee.

According to earlier reports, Henry was found in the road near Charlotte. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Henry had suffered "life threatening injuries."

"We ask everyone to pray for Chris," agent Andy Simms of PlayersRep Sports said in a statement. "We also ask that you respect the privacy of Chris' family. Chris is indeed battling for his life tonight, and our thoughts and prayers [are] with him during this extremely difficult time."

Police said the trouble began at home, where just before noon Henry jumped into the bed of a pickup truck. His fiancee was driving the truck away from the house when he hopped in.

At some point while his fiancee was behind the wheel, Henry fell out of the truck.

According to ESPN, "Henry is engaged to Loleini Tonga, and the couple has been raising three children. Tonga's MySpace page identifies herself as "Mrs. C. Henry" and has a picture of her next to a person who appears to be Henry. She also has a post from Tuesday talking about buying wedding rings."

Henry hasn't traveled with the team since breaking his left forearm in a win over Baltimore on Nov. 8. After surgery he was placed on injured reserve, which effectively ends a players season.

We'll continue to update this story as we receive more information.
