Jackson unsure of return

The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a role this 2009-10 season defending their championship with a 21-4 record in hopes of a repeat. However, there are still unsolved issues which include Phil Jackson's future with the Lakers.
Jackson spoke in a pre-game interview about how he will not make his decision until June or July on his return, acknowledging that a repeat would help with his decision, however, he did not find it a natural thing to come back just because of the win.
"A lot of it has to do with the direction the league is going, the direction the ownership wants to go in. People are cutting costs all around the league, and coaches are obviously going to take a cut too, so they may not even want to hire me. They may want to save some money."
He also spoke about Kobe and Gasol's three year contract deal which is in progress by saying that the long-term locking up of those two stars would not influence his decision.
"They have a great chance to be a very good team for a while. Drew is locked in, and that's a great start from the standpoint of putting a great roster together that has some commonality. It'll give them a real good basis. But it's not a definite that I would continue."
Jackson is the NBA's highest-paid coach, making $12 million annually, and has won more champioinships (10) than any head coach in league history.
