Chicago Blackhawks GM Dale Tallon has been fired, according to Comcast Sportsnet in Chicago Monday night.
Assistant GM Stan Bowman, who has been with the team over 10 years and taken care of contract negations and free agency issues, will supposedly be offered to fill the vacancy.
Tallon was named GM in 2005, and drafted both Patrick Kane and Jonathon Toews. He signed star players such as Brain Campbell, Nikolai Khabibulin, and Marian Hossa.
The Blackhawks finished last season with 104 points, and lost in the Western Conference finals to the Detroit Red Wings.
