The Chicago Cubs acquired infielder Jeff Baker from the Colorado Rockies on Thursday. The deal was for minor-league pitcher Alberto Alburquerque.
Baker has mostly been used in a backup role for the Rockies. His best season was in 2008, when he hit 12 home runs and drove in 48 runs. This season,he's hitting just .130 with 3 RBIs this season. He'll likely remain on the Cubs' roster and back up at first base and third base.
