The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forwards Bill Guerin and Craig Adams fresh off their Stanley Cup win.

The 38-year-old Guerin agreed to a one-year deal worth $2 million. The contract includes performance bonuses that could make the deal worth $2.85 million.

Adams inked a two-year deal that will pay him $550,000, which is less than he earned last season.

Both players were set to become unrestricted free agents on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh acquired Guerin at the trade deadline from the New York Islanders in exchange for a third-round draft pick. He tallied five goals and 12 points in 17 regular season games and seven goals and 15 points in 24 post-season games with the Penguins.

''We are excited to agree to terms with Billy on this one-year deal,'' general manager Ray Shero said. ''He made a tremendous impact on this team with his scoring ability, physical play and outstanding leadership and was a key factor in our drive to the Cup. I know our players, coaches and fans will be happy to have him back in Pittsburgh.''

Guerin has played 1,185 career NHL games with New Jersey, Edmonton, Boston, Dallas, St. Louis, San Jose, the Islanders and the Penguins, recording 408 goals, 403 assists, 811 points and 1,585 penalty minutes. He represented the U.S. in the Olympics in 1998, 2002 and 2006.

Adams had three goals and two assists in 24 playoff games for the Penguins. He had two goals and four assists in 36 games with Chicago and one assist in nine regular-season games after being claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh on March 4.

Both Guerin and Adams played crucial roles in Pittsburgh's Stanley Cup victory.

Guerin played alongside Sidney Crosby on the top line and scored two-game-winning goals in the post-season. One game winner was scored during Game Two of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the rival Philadelphia Flyers in overtime.

Adams was one of the Penguins' best penalty killers in the playoffs. He also recorded two-empty-net goals during the post-season, a sign that head coach Dan Bylsma trusts him on the ice in the final minute when the Pens are holding onto the lead.

Forwards Ruslan Fedotenko, Petr Sykora and Miroslav Satan, defenseman Rob Scuderi, Hal Gill and Phillipe Boucher, and goaltender Mathieu Garon can all become free agents on Wednesday.
