Sean O'Hair Tames Tiger

The Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill was once again a case of the leaders being scared of the Tiger. And as usual, they ran and hid from the most dominating golfer of all time. Tiger Woods scared Sean O'Hair for the second time in his career and pulled out his 66 career victory. This week however, the story changed. After opening with a first round 7 under par, Woods would not come close to duplicating the first round performance, and in the end, Sean O'Hair was able to battle back and take down Tiger Woods for his third career victory.
Woods doesn't have that happen to him all that often. Considering the fact that he has 66 career victories and has never played a full scheduled in any year on tour, his winning percentage is off the charts. That would mean Tiger doesn't lose, he only beats himself. However, 2009 has not been the year of the Tiger. After coming back from season ending knee surgery in 2008, Woods has only one victory, at Bay Hill, and was not truly in contention at the Masters. Is Tiger still Tiger? Most people would say yes, but with a man who has already accomplished so much, started a family, has Tiger lost his advantage over the field? He used to be untouchable, but in my opinion things have changed. No one has stepped up to take his place, but there is a host of characters who are competing every week at a higher level than before. Tigers' absence from the game for those 10 months have given other players on tour confidence and experience, which was exactly what they were all lacking since he emerged as one, if not the best player in PGATour history.
