Chicago Blackhawks

A slow week for the Blackhawks after winning four of their last five.  Tuesday brings an  intriguing playoff rematch against the Canucks.  After a rough week, is Huet still the number one for the Blackhawks?

Columbus Blue Jackets

Can the Blue Jackets continue to add wins to their franchise best 5-1-0 record?  It’s about to get a lot tougher as they embark on a four game west coast road trip with an imposing weekend back-to-back against the Ducks and Kings.  This trip could prove to be a bonding experience and confidence builder, or the perfect buzzsaw to their near-perfect start.

Thursday Oct. 22 - @ Edmonton Oilers

Saturday Oct. 24 - @ Anaheim Ducks

Sunday Oct. 25 - @ Los Angeles Kings

 

Detroit Red Wings

Beginning Thursday, the Wings open a five-game west coast road trip with two tilts against Pacific Division opponents.  If Osgood continues to underperform, could this road trip usher in the Jimmy Howard era in Detroit?

Thursday Oct. 22 - @ Phoenix Coyotes

Saturday Oct. 24 - @ Colorado Avalanche

 

Nashville Predators

Not the best time to be in the midst of a five-game losing streak.  A harsh back-to-back with 429 miles of travel inbetween, and with injuries to J.P. Dumont and Jordin Tootoo, someone needs to step up offensively.  Quickly.

Thursday Oct. 22 @ Ottawa Senators

Saturday Oct. 24 @ Chicago Blackhawks

 

St. Louis Blues

Thank goodnes the Blues put a beatdown on Anaheim.  Can you imagine what people would be saying if St. Louis was heading into Pittsburgh riding four-straight losses?  Everything came together against the Ducks, and it needed to if they’re going to have a chance against the Penguins.  One major positive is that both goaltenders in St. Louis are playing well.

Friday Oct. 23 – Minnesota Wild

Saturday Oct. 24 – Dallas Stars

 

GAME OF THE WEEK

Tuesday Oct. 20 - Columbus Blue Jackets @ Calgary Flames

- The Blue Jackets edged out the Flames 2-1 a week ago.  The Jackets are riding a three-game winning streak and a win in Calgary to start this road trip would be huge.  But Calgary, who began the season 4-0-0, is looking to recapture their form after dropping three of their last four.
